I've seen elsewhere that some ladies have a "no review policy". As a part of their vetting process they request user handles on local boards and I guess that is how they monitor. Obviously it's hard to stop completely, but I would hope that people would be respectful of a rather simple request like that. It's easier to not type something than it is to type it out..
The whole "what happens between us stays between us" concept is most definitely fair.
From this side of things I really do appreciate reviews and recommendations though.
Another board for the same sort of thing across Canada has a "No negative reviews" policy. If you have nothing nice to say, then keep it to yourself. There is a separate section on there for SWs to post their own reviews, experiences and warnings amongst themselves which no one else can view. You have to be approved to access that section. The warnings here on this site and forum for users from either side are important to avoid scams or dangerous situations. In my opinion, the small base of people we have here providing service and availing of service makes for a small base to gather any information when it comes to safety compared to Toronto or Montreal. It's easier to find reviews and validating information for providers in larger centres.
So basically, if a provider requests that you don't post reviews then respect it.
If someone is looking for info on that provider a simple PM that they are legit should suffice, no details required.
